BCFHD Participates in Enhancing Food Security and Livelihoods.

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote food security and livelihoods, Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD), represented by its Program Manager, Mr. Riyadh Shamsan, participated in the training course for the 2024 Food Security and Livelihood Survey Researchers.

The course, organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and in collaboration with the Ministries of Planning, Agriculture and Irrigation, Fisheries, and the Central Bureau of Statistics, aims to build the capacities of researchers in this vital field.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Riyadh Shamsan is one of the certified trainers in this periodically conducted course. His expertise significantly contributes to developing the trainees’ skills and enhancing their ability to understand and analyze food security and livelihood concepts.

The course spans two weeks, from December 21, 2024, to January 2, 2025, covering various topics, including an introduction to food security-related terms and concepts, characteristics of the targeted households, housing, water, and sanitation data, as well as a focus on food quality, household expenditures, and consumption.

The importance of this comprehensive field survey lies in its role as one of the primary references for the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). It also serves as the foundation for humanitarian response plans.

Bena Charity remains committed to actively participating in these initiatives, contributing to improving community livelihoods and fostering stability.
