Mr. Julien Harneis, the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, visited BCFHD’s headquarters today, accompanied by his delegation. They were received by Dr. Abdulkarim Shamsan, Chairman of BCFHD, along with several members of the executive body.
During the visit, a meeting was held to discuss various humanitarian and developmental issues related to the association’s efforts in supporting the most vulnerable groups and strengthening partnerships with UN organizations to ensure an effective and sustainable response to Yemen’s worsening humanitarian situation.
Dr. Shamsan presented BCFHD’s ongoing activities and projects during the meeting, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordination with the UN and international organizations to provide practical solutions that alleviate the suffering of citizens.
For his part, Mr. Julien Harneis expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by BCFHD, noting the UN’s commitment to continue supporting local partners to meet the growing humanitarian needs.
The visit concluded with a tour of BCFHD’s facilities, where the delegation was briefed on the progress of work and the activities being implemented across various humanitarian and developmental fields.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation between BCFHD and the United Nations to support humanitarian response efforts in Yemen and continue joint efforts to alleviate the suffering of the population amid the current challenges.
