As part of the “integrated Response Project for Education and Protection Services for the Most Affected Children in Maqbanah District” project funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), Bena Charity (BCFHD) conducted a training for child caregivers on beekeeping.
The training, which was attended by 6 males and 4 females on the first day, aimed to teach participants beekeeping skills, including:
Hive assembly
Managing bee colonies
Honey harvesting
Disease control
The trainees will be provided with beehives in the next phase, which will enable them to start beekeeping as a means of improving their livelihoods.
Beekeeping is a sustainable agricultural practice that can provide a source of income for poor families, especially in rural areas. Honeybee products, such as honey, also have high nutritional value and multiple health benefits.
Through this project, BCFHD seeks to empower child caregivers to improve their living conditions and support their families.
