Bena Charity (BCFHD) Opens Agricultural Village Project in Taiz, Funded by Pure Hands.

Bena Charity (BCFHD) opened on Thursday its Agricultural Village Project in Taiz governorate, funded by Pure Hands.

The project aims to support farmers in Taiz governorate and alleviate their suffering by building 10 rainwater harvesting tanks in 10 agricultural villages.

The villages benefiting from the project include 6 villages in Mawasit district, AL-Akhmor district, and 4 villages in AL-Shmaaiten district in Dhaba’ Al-Kharej district.

Each tank benefits 8 farmers in each village, for a total of 80 farmers benefiting from the tanks.

The opening ceremony was attended by Najeeb Ghazi, director of Pure Hands office in Sana’a, Mersal Al-Sahbany, program manager at the organization, Amin Sharaf Thabet, director of Ma’wasit district, Ali Abdulrahman Al-Sofyani, director of agriculture office in Ma’wasit district, Riyadh Salaam, program manager at BCFHD, and Suleiman Al-Samadi, project manager.

Najeeb Ghazi stressed that the agricultural village project comes within the framework of Pure Hands’ efforts to enhance food security and improve the livelihoods of farmers in Yemen.

Riyadh Salaam, for his part, explained that the project aims to collect and store rainwater to provide a sustainable source of agricultural irrigation, which will contribute to improving crop yields and enhancing the sustainability of agricultural villages.

The beneficiaries of the project expressed their happiness with the implementation of this project, which will contribute to improving their lives and increasing their income.

This initiative comes within the framework of BCFHD’s efforts to promote sustainable development in Yemen.
