Bena Charity for Human Development (BCFHD) condemns the assassination of the director of the World Food Program (WFP) office in Taiz, Muyad Hamidi.

BCFHD strongly condemns the cowardly attack that resulted in the death of Mr. Hamidi on Friday, July 21, 2023; We extends our deepest condolences to his family, as well as to the WFP and its offices in Yemen, and to all its employees. BCFHD declares its full

solidarity with them during these difficult circumstances.

This heinous crime targets the World Food Program and its significant humanitarian role in assisting the Yemeni people, es

pecially in Taiz, by providing food rations to millions of displaced and affected persons by the war and humanitarian crisis in Yemen.

We call on the authorities in the province and security services to urgently arrest the perpetrators and bring them

to justice.

BCFHD emphasizes the importance of supporting humanitarian work and protecting those who work in this vital field. We also call on the Yemeni government to condemn these heinous terrorist acts and to cooperate in providing full protection for relief workers and providing the necessary humanitarian needs for the Yemeni people in these difficult times.

We ask our God to have mercy on the deceased and grant him a place in paradise, and to bless his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
