50 % of the population in Yemen depends on the revenues of agricultural production, and 53% of the labor force works in agriculture. Hence, supporting and restoring agricultural livelihoods is the main gateway to food security in Yemen.
Accordingly, BCFHD considered this path as one of its priorities; therefore, it has implemented the project Emergency Livelihood Assistance to Address the Negative Impact of Rising Food Prices in Yemen (Taiz Governorate, Al Mawasit District)in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The project provided 4000 agricultural families in Al-Mawasit District With vegetable seeds and cash assistance, which had a clear impact on improving nutrition, increasing household income, and supplying local markets with types of good agricultural products.
