The start of the first phase of rehabilitation of damaged houses in Al-Mudhaffar District, Taiz

The work of the first phase of the rehabilitation of damaged homes is continuing within the project “Rehabilitation of the Damaged Houses of the Vulnerable (Priority 2) – and linking this to livelihood support to empower the targeted families in Al Mudhaffar District – Taiz Governorate” implemented by Bena Charity for Human Development BCFHD and funded by the Humanitarian Fund for Yemen YHF.

The rehabilitation targets 44 houses in the Mudhaffar district (Bir al-Wafi neighborhood and Shaab al-Haddad neighborhood), among the houses damaged by the war.

The rehabilitation activity comes immediately after the delivery of the first batch of cash assistance to 44 of the most needy and vulnerable families to be used in the rehabilitation of their homes. The first phase includes pouring damaged rooms in addition to internal and external plastering works, while the next stages include the installation of doors, windows and water tanks. Sanitary and electrical installations, and supplying homes with a solar array that will be used to light homes.

The project is an extension of the association’s interventions in the shelter sector, where this is the first phase and will be followed by two phases in the coming months
