Within the project “improve access to education in the district of Al-Waziyiah” which was funded by YHF, BCFHD handed over 25 schools after completing their restoration and rehabilitation.
The handover event was implemented under the auspices of the Governor of the Governorate, and it was attended by the Deputy Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office and other representatives of the relevant government offices.
Tariq Al-Hammadi, Executive Director of BCFHD, explained that the restoration and rehabilitation activity of schools is part of BCFHD’s efforts in the field of Education in order to create an appropriate learning environment for students, and motivate them to return to their schools.
He added: the restoration activity targeted 25 of the worst-affected schools, which were identified in coordination with the local council and the Education Office of Al-Waziyiah district.
It is worth mentioning that besides to the restoration activities, that this project included furnishing 9 schools with 557 double school seats, installing 201 modern blackboards with their supplies in 31 schools, distributing 9345 school bags with their supplies to students of both genders, and targeting 525 teachers with full-supplied teacher bags. In addition to distributing hygiene kits to 23 schools, the project also targeted training of 200 teachers on education in case of emergency and psychological support for students in 32 schools within the district.
