BCFHD launched the first community meeting of the water committees in the urban districts (Salh, Al-Qahirah and Al-Mudhaffar) within the project of WASH basic services and facilities for IDPs and vulnerable people in hosting communities – rehabilitation and restoring – in high priority districts in Taiz (Al Misrakh, Al Mudhaffar, Al Qahirah and Salh).

During the meeting, the project manager inducted the committees on the project activities, goals and the targeted Districts, in addition to informing the committees of their tasks in facilitating the implementation of activities. The attendees also were introduced to the complaints mechanism and the role of the committee in raising the awareness of the beneficiaries on how to communicate and express their opinions, proposals or complaints through the specified means

It is worth mentioning that, the members of water committees (17 members), were nominated by LWSC in the three urban districts.
