Under the auspices of Prof. Mohammed Alshuaibi, the President of Taiz University and Dr. Khalid Alwasabi, the Vice President of Taiz University for Student Affairs, the General Administration of Student Activities organized a ceremony honoring the winners and creative students in central sports and cultural activities for the academic year 2016/2017 and the reception of new students for the new academic year.
The ceremony, supported by the Academic Excellence Center of Bena Charity, was attended by the local authority of Taiz Governorate represented by the two Deputy Governor Mr. Aref Gamel and Dr. Abdulqawi Almekhlafi as well as the Deputy Manager of the Academic Excellence Center, Mr. Abdulalem Alquraidi and General Managers of Executive Offices, Chairmen of Colleges and the academic staff of Taiz University.
Dr. Alwasabi, the Vice President of Taiz University, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests and praised all the employees of Taiz University, calling for maintaining Taiz University- the distinguished scientific edifice- which is considered as one of the best government universities in Yemen in terms of development and transition to international and digital electronic system, adding that Taiz University is the first university to operate in accordance with the comprehensive automated program that will solve many problems related to students’ affairs. Dr. Alwasabi praised the role of foundations and charities that contributed to the support and assistance of Taiz University, wished the winners excellence and creativity in various fields of sports and culture and welcomed all the new students and congratulated them on joining Taiz University.
The ceremony also included several speeches delivered by Dr. Abdulqawi Almekhlafi, the Deputy Governor of Taiz Governorate, the Manager of Student Activities, and some winners and creative students, as well as many artistic, cultural, poetic and theatrical participations. The ceremony was concluded by honoring and distributing honorary certificates, prizes and gifts to the winners and creative students in the central sports and cultural activities for the last academic year
